The Pit
The Pit is one of the most popular farming destinations in the game. Tucked into a two-level cave in the Tamoe Highland, it offers area level 85 status with some of the weakest monsters you will encounter at that tier. This combination of easy kills and top-tier drop potential makes it ideal for characters just entering endgame farming.
As an alvl 85 zone, elite packs in The Pit can drop every Unique and Set item in the game. The monsters have notably low health compared to other max-level areas, allowing you to stack Magic Find heavily without sacrificing clear speed. On higher player counts, regular monsters and chests become excellent sources of High Runes (up to Zod), skillers, and runeword bases.
Take the Outer Cloister waypoint and head backward into Tamoe Highland. Follow the path until you hit a fork — one direction leads to Black Marsh, the other to The Pit entrance. The cave spans two floors, each with its own set of elite spawns.
- Pit Level 2 is always positioned to the left of the Level 1 entrance and has a compact, predictable layout with several guaranteed elite groups.
- A Golden Chest spawns in Level 2 — always open it.
- Clear all elite packs on both floors before resetting. Aim for roughly 6 elite groups on Level 1 before descending.
- Because monster health is so low, this is an excellent spot to run with maximum MF gear. Prioritize Better Chance of Getting Magic Items over damage.
- Increase player count (/players 3, 5, or 7) as your build gets stronger. Higher player settings dramatically increase rune, charm, and base item drops from regular monsters.
Elite packs can produce endgame staples including Arachnid Mesh, Harlequin Crest, Griffon's Eye, Death's Fathom, Crown of Ages, and War Traveler. High Runes and 4-socket Monarchs are common supplementary finds at elevated player counts.
