Level your Necromancer from 1 to 75 using Teeth / Bone Spear → Poison Nova / Summon. Includes skill progression, stat allocation, and gameplay tips.
Overview
This guide walks through leveling a Necromancer from 1 to 75 efficiently. Uses Teeth / Bone Spear → Poison Nova / Summon with a respec around level 32-38. By the end you will have used 1 of your 3 respeccs and be ready for your endgame build.
The Necromancer levels with Teeth and Bone Spear through Normal, then respecs to Poison Nova backed by a summon army. Skeletons provide a tank wall while the mercenary handles poison immunes. Craft a White runeword wand for +skills and an Insight polearm for your mercenary. Use Amplify Damage to break physical immunities and Corpse Explosion for massive area clear. Stealth armor and Lore helm are essential early upgrades.

- Armor: Stealth (Tal+Eth) in a 2-socket body armor — FCR, FRW, mana regen. Upgrade to Smoke (Nef+Lum) or Vipermagi unique for resists
- Weapon (Pre-Respec Bone): Any wand with +skills. Shop for +3 bone spear wands from vendors
- Weapon (Post-Respec): White (Dol+Io) in a 2-socket wand — +3 poison/bone skills, FCR. Shop a wand base with +3 poison nova or +3 summon skills from Drognan in Act 2
- Shield: Rhyme (Shael+Eth) in a 2-socket bone shield/grim shield — CBF, resists. Splendor (Eth+Lum) in a 2-socket necro head for +1 skills. Spirit in a monarch later
- Gloves: Any with FCR, mana, resist
- Belt: Any with resistances, life, FHR
- Boots: Any with FRW and resistances
- Rings: Rare rings with life, mana, FCR, resistances
- Amulet: Any with +skills or resistances
- Mercenary (Act 2 Nightmare — Holy Freeze or Might): Insight (Ral+Tir+Tal+Sol) in a 4-socket polearm — meditation aura solves all mana. Armor: Stealth or Smoke or Treachery. Helm: Bulwark or life leech helm. The merc carries your summons — keep him alive
